EMILIA SYKES FILES PETITIONS FOR OHIO HOUSE

AKRON – Emilia Sykes has filed her petitions to run for the Ohio House, promising to work to create jobs, stand up for working and middle class families, improve educational opportunities, and ensure families and children in the 34th District have access to healthcare and critical social service programs.

Sykes will take a leave of absence from her job as a staff advisor for the Summit County Fiscal Officer to focus all her time and energy on the race.

“I have spent the past five months listening to hard working people in the district. They want good paying jobs, more support for our schools, investments in our community, and they want a state legislature that is working for them,” Sykes said. “I am running for the Ohio House to find ways to bring people together in a bipartisan manner. If we work together, we have tremendous opportunities to improve the lives of the families in Akron and all Ohioans.”
